Said Jacksons (CI) operations director Paul Kell: ‘We are very proud to have been named as runners-up in a national awards.
‘We believe it is a first for a Channel Islands motor company.

‘It was an achievement to have been nominated and made it through to the shortlist and recognises our commitment to providing Motor Mall customers with a wide range of quality pre-owned cars, in addition to the large selection of new cars available from our nine franchises, and supporting that with quality sales and after-sales service. Our team works really hard at providing the best deals and most professional levels of service to local customers – it’s very satisfying to have their efforts recognised as being industry-leading in the UK.’

Land Rover Master Technician...

JASON MILLER has completed his Master Technician qualification for Land Rover and is in the process of doing the same for Jaguar.

The 41-year-old has been completing online assessments and attended practical and theory assessments at the Land Rover base at Leamington Spa.

The qualification requires continuous updates with two or three courses per year in order to keep up with the latest technology. Jason is away for two days at the start of next week for an introductory course on the new Range Rover, which is due to be launched in Jersey early in 2013.

Jason studied at Highlands College from the age of 17 and completed his apprenticeship at St Helier Garages, the then Land Rover/Jaguar dealers. He has remained with the franchises ever since.

Jason enjoys cycling and races for the Caesarean Cycling Club and Jersey. Each year he completes the l’Etape du Tour, an event that allows amateur cyclists to complete a stage of the Tour de France and in May next year he will be completing the Gran Fondo New York, a 177 km mass participation race around New York and New Jersey.
