Jersey Evening Post recently interviewed Motor Mall Jersey's General Sales Manager, William Pucci, so we thought post it here for those that missed it in the paper.

Motor Mall - Exceeding Expectations...
MOTOR MALL is the Channel Islands largest franchised dealer, offering a choice of new vehicles from a dozen manufacturers and a wide range of quality used cars.
The dealership at Mont à l’Abbé represents Chrysler, Citroen, Jeep, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Peugeot, Skoda, Suzuki and Volvo, as well as light commercial vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, Peugeot, Citroen and Nissan. It also has access to many used cars both on site and through its sister Motor Mall in Guernsey. It also houses Jersey Land Rover and Jersey Jaguar on site and provides after-sales service for all the brands.
Motor Mall finished runners-up and was highly commended in the prestigious Car Dealer Magazine 2012 Wheeler Dealer awards in the Used Car Dealership of the Year, 50 to 100 stock category, and putting the customer first is the mantra of general General Sales Manager William Pucci.
He came to Jersey from America, where he had worked in the automotive trade for 30 years. He has run Ford, Highline and Toyota dealerships in Boston, Florida and Georgia, selling as many as 3,000 cars a month.
Since moving to Jersey a little over a year ago, representing BMW and Mini at Jacksons, William moved to Motor Mall as floor manager before taking up his current position in October last year.
‘Customers everywhere want to be treated with respect and given the red-carpet treatment,’ he said. ‘Buying a car is the second-biggest purchase most people will ever make, so they deserve to be well looked after. Whether they are spending £3,000 or £100,000 on a car, my sales team will go the extra mile for them before, during and after the purchase.
‘We have been working with our manufacturers to secure the best deals to pass on to our customers because we know the economy is still tough and people work hard for their money and deserve the best deal possible. The more cars we sell, the better deals we get from the manufacturers, and we can pass those on to our customers.’
William has been putting his many years of experience in sales to good use and has invested in training for his ten-strong sales team, who generally specialise in one manufacturer while having the general knowledge to offer advice on all the new and used vehicles. Among the team are Portuguese, Polish, French, Italian and Romanian speakers.
‘We have a wide range of customers and it is important to know how to talk to them and help them to find the right car and then guide them through the buying process. As general sales manager, I don’t like to be in my office, I like to take a hands-on role and be involved, from meeting customers at the door to handing over the keys.
‘We may be going for volume and offering big discounts, but I will not compromise on customer service and satisfaction.
‘There are also some customers who dread the whole buying process and worry about the hard sell. I want the buying experience to be fun. That is why we have themed events and sales at Halloween and Christmas. Buying a new car is exciting and the experience should be enjoyable.’
The Motor Mall concept is based around driving down the cost of motoring. Whether you are looking for a small hatchback, family saloon, estate, people carrier, sports car, convertible or 4x4, they carry the largest selection of new and nearly new vehicles in the Channel Islands with prices that they claim won’t be matched.
A range of finance packages is available and other products are available, including price protection, tyre insurance, budget service plans and paint and interior protection.
Motor Mall has also been at the forefront of driving down the price of fuel and has consistently been the cheapest, or close to it, in Jersey for several years.
William said that the year had started well and promised that Motor Mall would continue to offer customers ‘more bang for their buck’.
‘We will be continuing the sales, promotions and discounts, offering the chance to win iPads and serving coffee and doughnuts and putting up a bouncy castle on certain weekends so that the buying experience remains fun and can be something the whole family can share. We want to exceed our customers’ expectations.
